League of Legends is a team-based strategy game where two teams of five powerful champions face off to destroy the other’s base. Choose from over 140 champions to make epic plays, secure kills, and take down towers as you battle your way to victory.

Power Up Your Champ

Champions get stronger by earning experience to level up and gold to buy more powerful items as the game progresses. Staying on top of these two factors is crucial to overpowering the enemy team and destroying their base.

Unlock Your Abilities

Champions have five core abilities, two special spells, and up to seven items at a time. Figuring out the optimal ability order, summoner spells, and item build for your champion will help you succeed as a team.

Choose Your Lane

There are five positions that make up the recommended team comp for the game. Each lane lends itself to certain kinds of champions and roles—try them all or lock in to the lane that calls you.

ABOUT LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

League of Legends (LoL) is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed and published by Riot Games. Inspired by Defense of the Ancients, a custom map for Warcraft III, Riot’s founders sought to create a stand-alone game in the same genre. Since its release in October 2009, League of Legends has been free-to-play and is monetized through purchasable character customization. In the game, two teams of five players battle in player-versus-player combat, each team occupying and defending their half of the map. Each player controls a character, known as a “champion,” with unique abilities and differing play styles. The main mode, Summoner’s Rift, involves pushing through to the enemy base and destroying their “Nexus,” a large structure located within. The game has received positive reviews and is considered one of the greatest video games ever made. It has a massive esports scene, culminating in the annual League of Legends World Championship.

Here are some key features of League of Legends:

Champions: In LoL, each player controls a single champion. There are currently over 140 champions, each with unique abilities and playstyles. Before a game begins, teams take turns selecting champions, strategizing to create effective team compositions.

Objective: The ultimate goal is to destroy the other team’s base. However, it’s not easy—you’ll face enemy champions, turrets, and waves of minions. As you play, you gain experience and gold, gradually growing stronger. League is like a role-playing game (RPG) that unfolds in a short timeframe.

Summoner’s Rift: This is the standard map where ranked matches take place. It’s where you’ll spend most of your time. Teams clash, grow in power, and make a final push for victory.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR LEAGUE OF LEGENDS GAMING PC

League of Legends is not a highly demanding game, so you don’t need the most powerful hardware to enjoy it at a good frame rate. However, if you’re aiming for very high frame rates, such as 144fps or 240fps, especially at higher resolutions, you’ll need to invest in more powerful components. Additionally, consider the longevity of your PC and futureproofing for other games you may want to play.

When choosing a gaming PC for League of Legends, you should consider the following key factors:

PROCESSOR

While League of Legends may not require the most powerful CPU, choosing a slightly more advanced processor can future-proof your system for other games and applications that may be more demanding.

A good PC processor is indeed important for playing League of Legends, especially if you’re aiming for high frame rates and smooth performance during intense moments in the game. While League of Legends is not the most demanding game, the processor (CPU) plays a crucial role in handling the game’s calculations and maintaining a consistent frame rate.

In summary, while you don’t need the most powerful processor on the market, having a good CPU will ensure that you can enjoy League of Legends with good performance and react quickly to in-game situations. It’s a balance between meeting the game’s requirements and the level of performance you desire.

GRAPHICS

For playing League of Legends, a good PC graphics card is not strictly required. The game is designed to be accessible and can run smoothly on a wide range of hardware, including systems with integrated graphics cards.

Integrated vs. Dedicated Graphics Cards: Integrated graphics are built into the CPU and are sufficient for basic computing and gaming needs. Dedicated graphics cards are separate components that provide more power for intensive graphics processing.

League of Legends Requirements: The game can run on integrated graphics cards that have been released within the last decade. The official minimum GPU requirements are quite low, indicating the game’s broad accessibility.

Performance: While a dedicated graphics card is not necessary, having one can enhance your experience by allowing higher settings and resolutions, and ensuring smoother performance during graphically intense moments.

In summary, if you’re just looking to play League of Legends, any good integrated graphics card should suffice. However, if you’re interested in higher performance or plan to play more graphically demanding games, investing in a dedicated graphics card would be beneficial.

RAM

For playing League of Legends, 16GB of RAM is more than sufficient. The game’s recommended system requirements suggest having at least 4GB of RAM for optimal performance

16GB of RAM is well above the recommended requirements and will allow for very smooth gameplay, even when multitasking or running other applications in the background.

While 32GB of RAM would be considered overkill for League of Legends alone, it could be beneficial if you plan to use your PC for more RAM-intensive tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, or running multiple virtual machines. Otherwise, for gaming purposes, especially for League of Legends, 16GB will serve you very well.

STORAGE

An SSD is not a requirement for playing League of Legends, but it can significantly enhance your gaming experience. SSDs have much faster data transfer speeds than HDDs, which means quicker load times for games and levels.

For League of Legends, an SSD will help with faster game starts and level loading, which can be especially beneficial if you’re also running other applications or streaming while playing.
